Jock Payten, CFA, CFP®
Jock grew up surrounded by the quiet strength of legacy. His grandfather built and ran a small business that became a cornerstone for the family. His parents worked tirelessly not just to make ends meet, but to create opportunities for their family.
They laid the foundation. What Jock inherited wasn’t wealth, but something deeper: a relentless work ethic, a sense of responsibility, and the belief that every generation should push the next one forward.
After receiving a bachelor’s in finance from Fordham University, an MBA in Finance and Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and serving as a Large Cap Equity Analyst at Eaton Vance, Jock left institutional investing with the experience and expertise to build a different type of firm.
“Our goal is to make information and knowledge accessible to others who want to use finance as a tool to create a better future for themselves and the people around them.”
That vision became Nubian Square Investment Advisors.
Named after the historic Boston neighborhood where Jock first planted his Boston roots, Nubian Square is a firm built for those rewriting the rules: first-generation wealth builders, mission-driven institutions, and legacy-minded families.
