President & CEO

Jock Payten, CFA

Founding Nubian Square Investment Advisors is a purpose filled mission to build a diverse-owned, responsible investment business to bridge the gap between main street and wall street. Jock has worked across investment firms learning how to manage capital for working class community investors, affluent, high net worth, and institutional investors. From pushing for change as an investor in global companies, to financing a locally owned whole foods grocery store that provides ownership to community members and employees, to creating wealth plans that center people and their legacy – Jock has seen how capital planning can play a powerful role in society. For Jock, stewarding Nubian Square Investment Advisors is about making a difference for people, through finance.

Jocelynn serves as a trustee at The Awesome Foundation of New York City, where she awards micro-grants to vibrant projects throughout the city. Associate Wealth Advisor

Antashé Howard

Antashé Howard is an experienced financial services professional who seeks to help bridge the wealth gap and inform others of the tools and resources available to achieve financial freedom and stability.

Upon graduation from Howard University, Antashé began her financial services career as a Mutual Fund Service Representative for Eaton Vance (acquired by Morgan Stanley) in Boston, MA. She has remained in the Registered Investment Advisor arena since 2019, serving as a Client Service Associate for multi-billion-dollar assets under management RIAs, Eaton Vance WaterOak Advisors (acquired by CI Financial) and Mariner Wealth Advisors. Antashé was promoted to Associate Wealth Advisor by Mariner Wealth Advisors in 2024. She relocated to Grand Rapids, MI to continue to assist with the development and expansion of a new and rapidly growing Mariner office that she had been supporting virtually for two years. Antashé worked alongside a small team of three to manage more than $269 million in assets under management.

Antashé formerly served as the Region 3 Youth Board Member on the NAACP National Board of Directors for two terms. Her journey with the NAACP began as an NAACP Detroit Youth Council member at age sixteen. She also served one term as the President of the NAACP Michigan State Conference Youth and College Division.

Antashé still enjoys Motown and soul sounds often played by elder relatives. She also enjoys dancing around the house as done with cousins in her youth.

After a successful launch in public accounting and consulting he founded Ironside Tax Services, where the company motto is to let all things be done decently and in order. His experience in Auditing, FP&A, and M&A has taught him how to collaborate effectively with individuals and business owners in varying states and navigating them towards long term financial success.

Kyle’s professional background includes internships, fellowships, and full-time roles at Fidelity Investments, D.E. Thomas Lloyd III is a purpose driven business leader that is passionate about people and process efficiency. His career stems from four Fortune 100 organizations within several different industries. Thomas’s primary responsibilities over the past decade has been in Operations Management. His people passion is fueled through helping organizations build customer and employee experiences that are life changing. He is always looking for a better way to be more efficient and productive both personally and professionally.

Thomas also spent time at a Technology company called Call Box located in Dallas, TX. where he led a startup Call Center Implementation and Customer Operations. He later pivoted into the Financial Services industry at New York Life Insurance for a number of years in their Customer Service organization. Recently, Thomas has gained experience in Banking at both Wells Fargo and Citigroup. These experiences has helped shape Thomas’s unique perspective about Customer Care and Process improvement. As a Board Advisor, Thomas will help advise Nubian Square Investment Advisors become the world’s leading Investment Management company through expertise in Operational Excellence and strategically building an organization that’s known for memorable Customer Experiences.
